FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 1/13

Another calm and quiet morning at 25 degrees on thursday morning. Not really any outlook for new snow thru the weekend. Not what we want to hear. A trailer just pulled in the back and there are guys just heading out, pic is below. I have seen worse conditions than this before but the die hards will be out there. There has been some panning done on trails but still we have a long ways to go to have a decent base. Blah Blah Blah, same thing every day…..Thanks for checking in. Pete

TRAIL REPORT, Thursday, January 13, 2022

GREAT RIDING CONDITIONS!

We currently have no new snow with a slight increase in rider traffic and the trail system in an overall very good condition, good in towns and near roadways. Groomer Operators were once again getting very good results last night.

Yesterday Brian talked Jim into helping with repairs of the railing on the Trail 418 AuTrain River Bridge and Chum was out inspecting Al’s grooming of Trail 422 to Miners Castle. There are really great riding conditions out there so Ride safe, stay right and enjoy! Keep doing the Cold Weather Snow Dancing and Stay Tuned for updates!

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails >> Groomer operators were checking traffic levels and we had feedback from some drift busters and we will be looking into conditions tomorrow before we pull the trigger on grooming. Conditions are getting more favorable, but the snow isn’t settling fast enough with sleds avoiding the drifts and knocking the air out of them. At 16 thousand pounds, the groomer doesn’t float enough in soft deep snow and we dont have a second machine to self rescue. So bear with us as we constantly monitor and discuss amongst our operators on the earliest optimum time to safely hit the trail. Guaranteed, as soon as we all agree on a green light, you will have a smooth trail! #munising #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
