SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 1/18
Groomer Bryan is out on the city trails tonight as snow is falling. We are supposed to get anywhere from 4-8” which will only improve our trails. They have been holding up great even with heavier traffic. Bryan cautions that there may be some blowing and drifting along the airport in the normal spots. Thank you Bryan! ❄️❄️❄️

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 12/31 It’s a mixed bag of nuts around here. Where things are good, they are REALLY good! We just need to get to all areas and we are making progress. Beautiful images from Pat on the 494 loop this morning. Thank you, Pat! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo1231#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 12/31 Happy New Years Eve! Snow is ongoing in our area. I show around 3-4” new snow in the Soo so far, reports in Brimley of at least 7” new snow. A word of caution- we do not like to send groomers out during the day, but sometimes we do not have a choice. Kenny and Jim will be headed out to tackle 889 in the Bay Mills area around noon today. There are many trees down and heavy drifting. It will undoubtedly be a long run for them, and the main goal is to get things opened up. Pat is out early south of Kinross on 494. 472 west to Tilson should also be done today. As a reminder, we cannot groom past Tilson Rd on 472 due to construction equipment. Please be on the lookout for the groomers, and if you’re able to move small branches safely, we appreciate the help! Subscribe to Groomer Tracker to see where the groomers are in real time. KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports….
It has been amazing conditions for riding Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula over the past couple of weeks! It’s snowing with a forecast that ranges with anywhere from 4-10 inches right now! All trails have been groomed in the last 24 hrs, with the exception of the spur to High Rock Bay.
Cullen Keath and crew were just up for their annual trip to ride the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club trails! A few in their crew rented their sleds from Copper Country Rentals again this year. They said it was a great experience renting from them! ( Copper Country rentals is conveniently located right on trail 17 in Calumet at The Trailside Lodge.
Cullen shared these photos and details about their trip, “This was our second annual trip to the Keweenaw Peninsula! It was an awesome 2 days of riding with 275 miles total!
The first day ride was from Calumet to Rockland, we had planned to go to Bergland, but there wasn’t enough time. We enjoyed the day of riding in the beautiful weather. We took a break at The Mosquito Inn!
The second day we rode from Calumet to Eagle Harbor. It was a beautiful view along the Lake Superior shoreline and of the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse. We then headed to Brockway, one of my favorite things to do on the snowmobile! We stopped to eat lunch at The Mariner North. The food is SO good and they have a GREAT staff!
From Copper Harbor, we rode out to High Rock Bay. The last part of trail 134 had a lot of moguls , but so worth it for the view of Lake Superior!
We left High Rock and headed on a long ride to the Gay Bar in Gay, Michigan. It was a great trail ride!
So grateful to all of the Groomer Operators that gave us such amazing conditions to ride! Thank you!”
We are so happy you enjoyed your annual trip to the Keweenaw! Thank you SO much for sharing your beautiful photos and videos with us Cullen!
If you would like real-time information on grooming operations, please download Groomer Tracker app and subscribe to the Keweenaw Snowmobile Keweenaw Snowmobile Club trails! There is a nominal fee of $10 and half of that goes straight to the club to help support the trail grooming!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western Up Trail Reports….
Getting hit with some significant snow right now here in the Western UP. Looks to me like it will give us between 10″-12″ before it’s said and done but that’s my prediction.
