Snowmobilers enjoyed riding our groomed trails over the past weekend! Trails are currently in fair condition. There is approximately a 2 inch solid base but we definitely need more of the white stuff. Keep THINKING SNOW!

I woke up excited this morning. What woke me up was the sound of the county snow plow going by my house. I figured that meant we got dumped on over night. I heard it making repeated passes but figured I would just stay in my nice comfy bed……Well after a while I figured I better get up and get ready so I could go out and plow too. I opened the door to see a nice white half inch of fluffy new lake effect snow. I cant even imagine why they sent those trucks out to do that. Its 11 a.m. on tuesday morning in Frederic. 29 degrees and sunny. I guess maybe next sledheads shirt I will do will be just Blah, Blah, Blah……..Also please ride safely, death count is now up to 3 with the newest one happening at Fife Lake, south of Kalkaska…..Thanks for checking in. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Accumulating lake effect snow continues today into Thursday, focusing across the typical snow belts of northern Michigan. Locally higher amounts will be possible. An additional 4-8” is expected across parts of northwest lower and eastern upper by Wednesday evening with localized higher amounts possible. WEATHER UPDATE via 9&10 News >> Lake effect snow will create some headaches in the traditional snowbelt areas over the next 24-28 hours.
-Winter Storm Warnings for counties shaded in pink and Winter Weather Advisories for counties in blueish/purple until 7pm Wednesday.
-Some areas could see 9-12"+ in Antrim, Otsego, Crawford & Kalkaska Counties. Same for areas of Luce & Chippewa Counties. Winds could be gusting upwards of 40mph blowing and drifting the fresh snow.
