Grand Marais Trail Report – 01/21

GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 1/21

FYI- finally got the second bully fixed late today. Jeffery and Chad will be hitting the north and south trails early tomorrow morning. If they hold up without breaking down there will probably be a second run later in the day. The Tucker is still down.

Traverse City Trail Report – 01/21

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via GRAND TRAVERSE SNOWMOBILE CLUB – 1/20

Trail Report: 01-20-22

We received some lake effect snow last night. We went out to inspect the trails and took a few pictures. Depending on where you are on the trail system you will find at least 3 inches and in some areas 6 inches of fresh snow. Trails up by Kalkaska and in the valley were in better shape. Due to the limited base I would still rate the trails as poor but every little bit helps. The groomers will be heading out this weekend to pan the trails. The forecast calls for 1-3 on Saturday and lake effect on Sunday and more of the same on Monday. Let’s all hope that this continues, it was nice getting out for a ride today. That’s all for now, remember to Ride Right, Ride Sober, Ride Safe.

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> Groomer Mike went out on the south trail yesterday and sent in some pics. Mike said the trails groomed up nice with the exceptions of a few small water holes. Looking at his ribbon, I think I'm going out for a ride today. Thanks Mike for volunteering your time. Remember to Ride Right, Ride Safe, Ride Sober.
Also, GTASC will be enrolling in the Groomer Tracking App program. Groomer Mike was instrumental in getting the GTASC on-line with this program. We anticipate to have this up and running very soon. We will update you when we are live. Thanks again Mike for your involvement in the club! #traversecity #snowphotos

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> And with the wind, down come the tree's! A group of members went out today to take care of the downed tree's on the South and West trails.
There is still more that needs to be completed, so be aware if you are out riding. Special thanks to Paul, David, Pat, Steve and Jeff for volunteering their time. Thanks to the group of riders coming from Kingsley that helped out with one of the tree's. Also, thanks to the gentleman from Fife Lake that came with a large chain saws for a big tree that had fallen there. It takes everyone lending a hand to keep these trails safe. The trails are being panned and the groomer drivers are reporting numerous water holes due to the rain we received prior to the snow. Be careful out there.
