Riding the Keweenaw is nothing new for Joshua Clare as he has been coming up to ride for 20 years! However, this trip was different! Joshua explained how this trip was extra special and shared these photos with us!
Joshua said, “We had an amazing trip! I have been coming to the Keweenaw for 20 years, but this trip I brought 3 of my kids and one of their friends. It was their first time riding on real trails!! Tonia O’Rourke & Mickey Hoose have been up taking advantage of the awesome conditions. Tonia shared these photos with us and said, “We had to come up to Copper Harbor to visit with our favorite waitress Ana at The Mariner North! She remembered us and knew we drank coffee and started a new pot!! Weather conditions aren’t that great, we’ll be heading back to our lodging to beat the blizzard coming in! 🥰❤️❄️ It was a great day for snowmobiling to Copper Harbor! Here are all our pictures of our amazing day! Making memories is what it’s all about! Hope you enjoy our adventure! 🥰👍❄️❄️❄️”
Thank you so much for sharing Tonia and we all agree Ana is simply awesome along with everything about the Mariner!
‼️⚠️ Hopefully you all have seen the post earlier today regarding a rough night the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club had with grooming operations. To summarize – a groomer slid off the trail in a wet area, the other two machines spent the night trying to recover the stuck machine. They were unsuccessful and a local contractor will be helping today. The machine is stuck on the side of the trail just north of the junction of trail 130 and trail 3, on trail 3. Groomers will be out today to get trails back into shape. The only trails groomed last night were trail 3 from Toivola to Houghton and trail 3 from Mohawk to Clear Lake Junction(the split to Copper Harbor via Brockway and trail 134)⚠️‼️

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via The U.P. Superior Snowmobile Club – 2/24
Groomer Todd reporting:
Fwd:Good Morning Everyone. Ribbons Are Back! The almost 20 inches of fresh snow this week has improved our Superior Snowmobile Club trail system exponentially from a week ago.
Trail 13 West from Greenland to Rockland was groomed early this morning to the trail 137 intersection. Trail 12 out of Greenland to trail 3 was also groomed. I would rate the trail in excellent condition.
I was able to climb the Rockland hills again with the groomer and drag with the pan down. This is a 24 mile run and takes me about 4 hours depending on conditions. I used 24 gallons of diesel and 5 quarts of DEF on this run. Thanks again for supporting the Superior Snowmobile Club!
