HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> 12/07
All of our gates are open & the entire west side of our trail system was panned today, while the east side & railroad grade are being done tonight. The ground & water holes are not frozen yet but we are off to a good start for early season riding!!
We do have two sections of our trail that are being logged/plowed:
🪵📍Trail 71 from Valley Rd to Alanson Trail Intersection
🪵📍Tail 710 from Stutsmanville Rd to Radle Rd
Be sure to stop into Moose Jaw Junction on Tuesday from 5-8pm for our all you can eat pizza dinner!! All proceeds go directly to the snowmobile club. 🍕

PETOSKEY AREA UPDATE via Petoskey Snowmobile and ORV Club >> Trails groomed tonight by Shane and Joe. If the weather warms above 30 degrees we won't groom until it cools down. The drag can chunk the trail leaving behind large snow balls that freeze and can hurt someone. We will be back out as soon as it gets cold again. #petoskeyTrails groomed tonight by Shane and Joe. HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> We had all three of our groomers out last night and overall the trails are in good shape. The Alanson trail still has the least amount of snow & we still have some open water holes. Great start to the season!
We have some above freezing weather coming in over the next few days with possible rain on Thursday & back to freezing on Friday. We are hoping to get out and groom again Thursday night depending on what the weather does. We will keep everyone updated. #harborsprings #petoskey #snowphotos

Matt is heading south on 76 from Chandler Hill Road to our turn around with Jordan Valley. The green dot are groomers. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Lake effect snow continues tonight into Sunday as winds shift more northwesterly, shifting focus of snows with time. HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> We had all three groomers out last night & the snow was coming down! Everything was groomed other than the Alanson Trail & Cross Village loop. The Alanson trail has the least amount of snow on our system & there are still some open water holes but overall the trails are in good shape.
Trees are continuing to fall from the ice storm damage earlier this year so please keep that in mind when out riding & especially in high winds. If you come across a down tree & are unable to safely remove it from the trail please let us know.
Temperatures are supposed to stay cold through the weekend & we are expected to get another 2-6 inches of snow. There is a warm up predicted Tuesday-Thursday with possible rain, we are hoping that changes but we will keep everyone updated.

Several inches of snow is expected across parts of northwest lower and the eastern U.P. by Saturday morning with additional lake effect snow continuing through Saturday. Below zero wind chills are expected for most areas late tonight through Saturday. Wind gusts of 25-35+ mph will lead to patchy blowing/drifting snow, especially across open areas.
