Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 03/22

FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 03/22

Its friday afternoon in frederic, have had calls wondering how much snow. A whole 1 inch on top of nothing. Funny part about that is there were 3 sleds that felt there was enough snow to ride. I took a pic of them over at the swamp about an hour or so ago. No way would I go out in this. Still 9 days of riding season left but I cant see any thing happening. Supposed to be 50 again this coming week. Wish I had better news. The 3 diehards from today are pictured below. Thanks for checking in. Pete

Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 03/22

SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 03/22

3/22- hi all! Nothing significant to report here in our area. We’ve had a tiny bit of fine snow on and off today. Nothing measurable. I just had to run into town and many areas are showing grass again. Trail 8 was snow covered, but barely. We are on the very short end of the stick for the big storm. I wish I had more exciting news to share, but it is what it is. Some snow is on the way, but it is unlikely it will be enough to make things enjoyable for riding.

The central and western UP might be better places to try this time around.

But as always, we’ll keep updating!

Thanks to John for sharing this update and his knowledge.

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/20/26
Good evening! Brimley Bill brought the Pisten Bully in to the Soo barn from Raco via trail 8 and groomed along the way. After 6”+ of new snow yesterday, the berms at the road crossings needed to be cleared.
He did a great job and the trail is flat, wide, and beautiful tonight!
The Bully is in for a thaw and an oil change and it’ll be back out to Raco tomorrow night.
Thanks Bill! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0120b #snowphotos

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/19/26
Jay and I hit the city trails last night and they are in good shape. Some choppy spots due to heavier traffic earlier, but we smoothed them out as best we could and saw very little traffic on our run.
Snow was falling the whole run and should be a beautiful ride in the morning.
Enjoy! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0119 #snowphotos
