LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 03/31
March 31st 2024.. Happy Easter Sunday everyone! Gates are closed, temporary signs are picked up and that will wrap up this 23/24 season. Needless to say it was not what any of us wanted. But like anything else you take the good with the bad. All we can do is hope for more favorable conditions in year’s to come. We’d like to thank everyone who patronized our local businesses and to everyone who follows us in our endeavors here in the Western u.p. A friendly reminder that 13n from Bergland to Rockland is closed until further notice. We hope to see everyone soon! Thank you from all of us at Gogebic Area Grooming.
LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> Bergland Area Groomer's report for Monday evening 1-19-26. Cold and Snowy!! Currently we're sitting around -9°. Snowfall, I think it varies in each particular area but guessing we've received 20"+ over the past 3 day's.. As with any significant storm we receive it will take a few passes to get everything back in shape but the trail's hit tonight turned out good! Trail's covered tonight 13n, 1n, 8w and 8e. 8w to Wakefield is in good shape now and no more water holes, a little narrow in spots but 💯 passable. Video is of 1n to White Pine. Thanks everyone. SIDNAW - WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club >> Groomer Report; Trail Condition: Good Last Groomed: January 18th, 2026 We are grooming on a regular basis, conditions allowing. The trails are very good. Please ride on the RIGHT side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs! Stay on the trail, if you don’t we could lose trail permissions on private property. Groomers have the right of way on the trails, pull over and stop to let them safely pass! We now have Groomer Tracker installed in our groomers. We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allow. Unforeseen circumstances may prevent us from going out, like a major blizzard and being snowed in at our homes or equipment breakdowns. #westernup... See MoreSee Less
ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Scott's Superior Inn and Cabins >> ❄️ Ontonagon / Porcupine Mountains Trail Report ❄️ I went for a ride after all the fresh POW piled up on us this weekend, and WOW — these trails are absolutely fantastic right now. We picked up about a foot of light, fluffy snow over the weekend, and Mother Nature isn’t done yet. Another 6–10 inches is falling today, adding to an already solid base. The cold weather is hanging on, and with steady lake-effect snow expected throughout the week, conditions are shaping up beautifully across the western U.P. Trails are smooth, well-covered, and riding great — this is the kind of snow we wait all season for. If you’ve been thinking about making a trip, now is the time. The Western U.P. is definitely the place to be right now. 🏁 Riding the Ontonagon & Porkies area? Make it easy on yourself and stay right on the trail at Scott’s Superior Inn & Cabins — warm rooms, sled-friendly parking, and Lake Superior views when you’re done riding. Come ride hard, then relax with us! 🏁 #ontonagon #westernup#snowphotos❄️ Ontonagon / Porcupine Mountains Trail Report ❄️

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports >> What is YOUR average miles riding, each season and how many will you end up with this season?
Less than 15 hours ago Ryan Bennet decided there wasn’t chance he was missing out on a little end of the season throttle therapy. Ryan arrived at Krupps Resortearly this morning after the long drive from Crntral Illinois, slept for a little bit and then hit the trail early.
Ryan is a long time rider of the Keweenaw and usually shares full reviews of his rides so others can see current conditions. In typical winters Ryan will log a LARGE amount of miles for a season along with high mileage days. In the 2021/22 season Ryan put on over 5200 miles and a 377 mile single day is not completely unusual for him!
This trip will definitely create a bit of a challenge for him in regards to be able to ride a usual and typical amount of miles as the Portage Lake Lift Bridge was closed prior to the season ending. This means Ryan was not able to head north into the Keweenaw this morning. Trail conditions took a pretty big hit further south yesterday, with the warm temps and sun, this will limit his mileage, along with the fact that trail 13 is closed.
Early this morning Ryan headed from Krupp’s to Houghton and shared a photo of the bridge and canal. Ryan said, “Made it from Krupps to Houghton and back, Trail 3 is fair to good, excellent late season conditions for not grooming!”
Thanks for sharing Ryan, we look forward to hearing how the rest of your day goes! Enjoy!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 03/28
Chasing snow has definitely been the norm this season and you had to be ready to leave with a moments notice. We can all hope next year will be nothing like this year!
‘Snownlyfans’ decided yesterday to chase some snow himself, from Sebewaing to Mass City – an 8 hour drive! After arriving last night at Adventure Motel, Snownlyfans got started early this morning and rode from Mass City to Houghton, Houghton to Sidnaw and back to Mass City! He already has 195 miles on today. Snownlyfans shared some photos and comments on riding. He said, “Can’t tell you his much snow I was pushing with my bumper from Mass City to Krupp’s Mini Mart, but it’s DEEP! Continued up to the South Range Pub, but it was closed 😩 Rode up to Houghton and then back south. Tried to ride into Sidnaw but unfortunately some of the trail was plowed. Oh well…..195 mile day!”
Thanks for sharing Snownlyfans! Glad you were able to get some throttle therapy in!
Note: please see posts from earlier today detailing information for riders and other reports from riders!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Krupps Resort – 03/27
Chris F. from Central WI came up for a quick ride yesterday! The last storm we got about 4” one day and 6” on the second day than yesterday was warmer temps and rain. That didn’t stop him tho for coming up to ride! He was able to get to town but said the sidewalks were plowed along the canal. Tho he couldn’t go past there he said he still had a great time! ❄️ Now today we’re are in yet another winter storm advisory supposed to to get a possible of 10-13” by tomorrow morning. Maybe we will hit 100” here in Twin Lakes yet! Wishing this was the start of winter not the end! Haha 🇺🇸⛄️❄️ www.kruppsresortmi.com

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 03/27
Really feeling like today should be April 1 and a cruel April fools day joke being played…… cruel is the exact word for the way this winter has been, eh?
After receiving about a foot of fresh snow Sunday/Monday, Mike Rode and a few other groups took the trails to scratch that never ending itch this lack of winter has brought ….. they were not disappointed!
After a great day Monday riding, Tuesday brought warm temps and rain and then last night temps dropped and changed to snow…… and now we are faced with another winter storm warning! 🙈
