CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort >> 01/17
New Snow Last 24 hrs: 4-5″
Trails range from fair-good!
Thin stretch between Boon and Mesick but lots of real good stretches on the trail.
Railroad grade to Thompsonville is fair. Gets better the further north you get.
Expecting busy traffic since it’s “free riding” weekend and MLK. We’ll have a bonfire going in the Coyote Corral on Saturday with drinks for sale outside!
Compared to last year, trails are a 10- haha! This trail report is from Lewis Finch who was out riding today! – THINK SNOW!
Hello- Got 3-4” in last day with some rain/snow mix and then fresh snow on top … there likely will be some spot grooming done, but don’t want to disturb the base too much yet … When dirt gets mixed in with the snow, we lose the rigidity of the ice base. Several people were riding this past weekend, but decent conditions were very localized from Coyote up to Mesick. Check out Coyote webcam for current pictures. Cold temps and some snow are in the forecast… THINK SNOW! Pete

Some parts in northeast lower and far eastern upper Michigan may break out into partial sunshine this afternoon. However, north-northwest to northwest winds today will remain brisk. Gusts to around 30 mph will be common. Accumulations remain consistent to this mornings forecast with 3-6” for most of the area and localized 7”+ possible where heaviest snow falls this evening and tonight. Winter is coming back, and trail base has held up surprisingly well! Our early season snows and panning have paid off, as most all trails are showing no dirt. 3-6″ of snow is expected in the next 24 hours, and it’s snowing lightly now. With this fresh snow, riding can resume in our area and hopefully grooming efforts will restart soon... #cadillac
