Weekend Update 1/25 and 1/26:
Happy weekend! We got about ‘half a retriever’ of fresh snow this week, it’s a beautiful thing. ❄
✅ Fresh snow
✅ Groomers running
✅ Best trails we’ve seen this season
We will be open and serving lunch, plus a taco bar, today 12pm to 5pm.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Accumulating lake effect snow continues today into Thursday, focusing across the typical snow belts of northern Michigan. TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> Groomer Mike went out on the south trail yesterday and sent in some pics. Mike said the trails groomed up nice with the exceptions of a few small water holes. Looking at his ribbon, I think I'm going out for a ride today. Thanks Mike for volunteering your time. Remember to Ride Right, Ride Safe, Ride Sober.
Also, GTASC will be enrolling in the Groomer Tracking App program. Groomer Mike was instrumental in getting the GTASC on-line with this program. We anticipate to have this up and running very soon. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Lake effect snow continues tonight through Wednesday with additional accumulations of 4-8" across the snow belts. Locally higher amounts will be possible. TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> And with the wind, down come the tree's! A group of members went out today to take care of the downed tree's on the South and West trails.
There is still more that needs to be completed, so be aware if you are out riding. Special thanks to Paul, David, Pat, Steve and Jeff for volunteering their time. Thanks to the group of riders coming from Kingsley that helped out with one of the tree's. Also, thanks to the gentleman from Fife Lake that came with a large chain saws for a big tree that had fallen there. It takes everyone lending a hand to keep these trails safe. The trails are being panned and the groomer drivers are reporting numerous water holes due to the rain we received prior to the snow. Be careful out there. An additional 4-8” is expected across parts of northwest lower and eastern upper by Wednesday evening with localized higher amounts possible. WEATHER UPDATE via 9&10 News >> Lake effect snow will create some headaches in the traditional snowbelt areas over the next 24-28 hours.
-Winter Storm Warnings for counties shaded in pink and Winter Weather Advisories for counties in blueish/purple until 7pm Wednesday.
-Some areas could see 9-12"+ in Antrim, Otsego, Crawford & Kalkaska Counties. Same for areas of Luce & Chippewa Counties. Winds could be gusting upwards of 40mph blowing and drifting the fresh snow.
