Gaylord Area Trail Report – Ray’s Retreat Country Inn – 03/03

I am thinking this will probably be the last trail report I write for this season. Temps start warming up the first of next week and rain moves in.
This morning it is in the single digits. Good and cold. Trail is in good shape. Gaylord trails have been groomed and are snow covered. We got about 4 – 6 inches of snow Wed and Wed night.
Hope you enjoy your last rides!

Indian River Trail Report — 03/03

Our guys checked the trail yesterday and unfortunately there is not enough snow to groom. This is probably not a surprise since we’ve only received a dusting since the weekend.

There is a thick base of ice but we need several inches of snow on top of it-otherwise the groomer has nothing to work with. Temperatures have held in the 20’s and riding is still decent in the woods. The railroad grade is hit-and-miss, and rider traffic has really dwindled. Today it’s in the teens and is supposed to reach a high of 30. Friday and Saturday are forecasted to be in the mid to upper 30’s. Sunday and Monday are looking like we’ll break 40s. I do believe the writing is on the wall…or in the snow…Expect conditions in the woods to hold longest when the melt-off begins. Thank you for another great season of support for our trail system, our volunteers, and our report. We love hearing from riders who use our report and appreciate your business too! I’ll post one more time next week just to ease the pain of snowmobile season ending…Thank you–
