Ontonagon Trail Report – 02/08

We hit all of our trails except Trail # 1 from White Pine to Lake of the Clouds and Trail # 11N (South Boundary) last night.

Our sister club to the south groomed all of their connecting trails, so riding should be great today!

With the cooler temps the trails are holding up well considering all the traffic.

Overall our system is in "very good" condition.

Be safe and thanks for riding The 906!!

Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 02/07

Just got off the phone with our Groomer Boss, Rick, who was busy servicing one of the groomers at the time of my call. Since he was busy, he cut to the chase and said that all trails are in excellent condition – at least for the moment. Groomers are out daily – during the evenings – grooming almost every trail at least once a day.

Lots of snow on the trails and our continued cold temps are helping to keep the snow in place. Watch out for icy corners and icy entrance/exits to corners. We had guests in who rode from here to Copper Harbor and back yesterday and they said “It was some of the best sledding of their life”.

Another rider had this to report about our trails: “Took trail 1 from Fishtales to marenisco- no moguls last excellent- took 2 west towards Wakefield . No moguls excellent- took 11s towards Wisconsin no moguls excellent. Trail 2 to 8 excellent. Trail 8 west towards Bergland a little bumpy but very rideable until I got on GAG’s portion of 8 it was excellent. Light traffic all the way. Excellent trails and a gorgeous day- regards- Tom

There’s going to be a lot of traffic up here this weekend – so best to hit it early. Gogebic Lodge is hosting the Moonshine Riders Radar Run which starts at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday. We’ll see you down there!
