Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – 03/02

Groomer Report:

All of our system was groomed last night. There are some bare spots on the “grade” and some of the corners that were washed out and down to ice are now dirt. There are some very nice areas and overall the trails have held up well with the warm temps. Watch out for the icy corners! Bottom line, slow down and think late season conditions.

The area from the trail #3 south intersection on the grade, trail #8, past Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 north intersection is quite thin. The grade between these two intersections gets a lot of traffic and is in a low snow fall area.

Please DO NOT climb the “Military Hill” from the highway, US 45, to the fence, we have ongoing erosion issues there and the hill climbers are adding to the problem. YOU COULD CAUSE THIS MAJOR TRAIL TO BE CLOSED IF YOU CONTINUE!

Watch for the groomers, they take up most of the trail and have the right of way!

Please pull over and DIM your lights for them, they have a long night out there.

Remember, you can get off the trail, the groomer can not.

Please ride on your own side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs!

Trail #3 North to Rockland is GOOD, better as you go north.

Trail #8 from Ewen to trail #3 North is GOOD.

Trail #3/8 East from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 South intersection is POOR.

Trail #3/8 West from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 North intersection is POOR.

Trail #3 South from the railroad grade to the CC road is FAIR, GOOD in the woods.

Trail #8 from the trail #3 South intersection to Trout Creek is GOOD.

Trail #8 from Trout Creek to Kenton is GOOD.

Trail #8 from Kenton to Sidnaw is GOOD, better as you go east.

Trail #8/15 from Sidnaw to the trail #109 intersection is GOOD.

Have a fun and safe trip, thank you for riding our trails and visiting our local businesses!

Ironwood Trail Report – 03/02

After grooming 56 miles of our trail system last night with our lone groomer trails are in incredible condition for nearly 50 degree weather this week.

As of 9am CST Friday Morning trails are rated GOOD system wide, many spots still excellent, see link below for full report! Our typical thin areas are there, but with 9 degrees last night and the groomer running from 5pm until 10am today and also repeating that tonight will provide Saturday with great riding conditions (all things considered).

We worked diligently to cover the FEW bare spots with fresh snow and will continue tonight. There is a TON of snow in the woods so we have a lot to borrow and work with grooming wise. John Dee Snow Central has the bullseye on us for 4-8″+ early next week so we are smiling with current March riding conditions! See specific sections below for detailed reports.

PLEASE STAY ON THE TRAIL! PLEASE DON’T STEAL OUR TRAIL SIGNS. Hard to believe we have to continue echoing these issues, we are so lucky we have some of the most friendly landowners around. Please remind yourselves and riders in your group to check road crossings TWICE (at least!) before venturing across roadways. If traveling on a county road ROW keep speeds slow to avoid any issues.
