Newberry Trail Report – 02/11

TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association update:

Feb. 11 2019

The sun is out today but expecting more snow starting tomorrow afternoon. We had bad weekend up here with too many accidents. Sledder’s need to slow down on the weekends and especially in the corners. REMEMBER: The groomers are on the trails too. Our club grooms 3 trails and two of them are long trails and we need to leave the barn in the afternoon.

Trail #9 (Holland Staging Area) Good to excellent condition. Please watch for the dog sledders crossing this trail. The areas are marked.

Trail #45 (Falls) Good condition. There is logging on this trail in 3 separate areas and the areas are well marked but watch out for logging trucks. Please be careful between M-123 and Skyline Road there are rocks from grading this past fall on the trail.

Trail #2/9 (Epoufette/Trout Lake) Good to excellent condition. Trail #2 will be plowed west of Hurd Road for a logging operation. Hurd Road is west ofthe Rexton Store. Please watch for logging trucks. On trail #473 Graymont will be plowing a mile of our trail the location is east of H-40 (Caffey Corner). Please slow down in this area there will be signs.

Cheboygan Area Trail Report – 02/11

Another great weekend of snowmobiling here in Cheboygan. Trails were busy. We would like to thank all our volunteers who helped groom the busy trails this weekend. They are calling for significant snowfall with Tuesday’s system. Trails are being groomed daily and continue to be in great shape.

We heard news of multiple crashes this weekend in the UP with deaths. We can’t stress enough how icy the base is under the snow. Please ride safe and be extra cautious. Remember to always "RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE." Your friends and family want you to come home safe.
