Grand Marais Trail Report – 01/30

EVENIND UPDATE: The Trail Boss, Norm, has released the Cats! The groomers will be heading out at 7 tonight.

You are all probably worried about the warm up we had. It got up to 37 degrees here yesterday but thankfully no rain, maybe a little misty stuff in the fog but nothing to worry about. We kept the groomers in last night and it’s cooling down; it’s 29.7 this morning and the temperature is supposed to keep dropping; staying in the teens the rest of the week. The NWS snow map shows we really haven’t lost any snow and another storm is on her way; expected to bring 6 to 12 inches of fresh snow. Things in Grand Marais are good!

Ranch Rudolph – 1/30

Warm temps and rain for 2 day has left things in bad shape. Still a fair amount of snow can be found in the woods, but the trails are taking a hit. The good news it is supposed to get cold again starting this afternoon and on Friday we are expected to get 12 inches of snow, so the weekend could still have some great riding.

Groomers Running: No

Base: Melting

Trail Condition: Poor

Snowfall in Past 24 hours: 0 inches

Grand Traverse Snowmobile Club – 01/30

Well, we didn’t loose all of our snow with the warm up. Temperatures are getting colder and this rain is starting to turn to snow. We are now under a winter weather advisory and then a lake effect snow advisory until Friday evening. Things are looking better!
