Newberry Trail Report – 12/08

Not bad, got another 3 or so inches today.

Talked to someone who rode trail 8 from rainbow lodge to grand marais and trail 9 down to here he said all was pretty good.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> A weak clipper system will bring light snow back to the area tonight, lingering into the day on Thursday. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Expect a few light lake effect snow showers in the NW wind snowbelts through this morning with minimal additional accumulations. Warmer weather is in store for midweek with highs in the 20s and even into the low 30s in the far west. Two rounds of light snow are expected from Thursday to Friday morning. Munising Area Trail Report – 12/08

GROOMING OPERATIONS ON HOLD

Early Season Conditions – No base

Trail 8 East – 4 to 6 inches of fresh snow
Trail 8 West – 4 to 6 inches of fresh snow
Trail 7 South – 4 to 6 inches of fresh snow
Trail 7 North – Getting in to Christmas may get thinner by town.
Trail 419W (Munising-Christmas) – CLOSED (SWAMP NOT FROZEN)
Trail SPUR – 4 to 6 inches of fresh snow
Trail 422 (Miners Castle) – Wet SWAMP north of H58 not frozen in.
Trail 419E (to Trail 8) – 4 to 6 inches of fresh snow
Trail 419 (Wetmore-Munising) – 4 to 6 inches of fresh snow

Notes – Things are looking good. LES has been doing its job. We may be getting the Pisten Bully out this weekend and set a few temp culverts and try to fill in some bad spots. Ride with caution and watch for washouts.
