Ontonagon Trail Report – 12/09

We have packed and started ice/snow bridges on our entire portion of Trail #12 from Greenland to White Pine.

We will be out later today to pack White Pine west through The Porkies, so all of South Boundary Road and Lake of the Clouds Road.

Trails 101 and 13 will be packed tomorrow or Monday.

Trail #137 South of Trail #12 will remain closed until culvert repairs can be completed.

There are many areas where we have trees down and wet spots as there hasn’t been enough cold weather to freeze everything. We need time for the swamps to freeze and as much help as we can get to clear downed trees/brush.If you don’t mind rough conditions, and have a chain saw, send us a FB message as to where we could use your help!

If we get the snow/cold predicted, we will be grooming later in the week. Fngers crossed for a Friday, December 15th opening.

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails >> Getting prepped for the weekend! Grooming, maintenance, and training are on the schedule. Snow is grooming out well, but temps are not letting it hold up. Colder temps this weekend will help, but warmer temps next week will make it challenging to keep the trail smooth late into the day. Roadside banks are getting tall which makes the trail narrow when paralleling the road. Keep that in mind when meeting the groomer in tight areas. Ride right and ride safe! #munising #snowphotos ...
