Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/06

FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 12/06

Its been a quiet and calm friday morning in snowy downtown Fredericanville. No new snow and no plowing for me overnight. Just a little touch up here and there. A few sleds in so far this morning and I expect there will be a good amount in this morning. Took my first drive thru the motel parking lots in Grayling and not to busy with a total of 13 trailers between Days Inn and Ramada. I cant say I am thrilled with the weather reports for the next couple days but we are surely off to a agreat start so far. Parking is an issue, I am full down at storage and people are parking in my back lot. If you want to park daily back there come inside and see me. Pic below is from this mornings first group of sleds. I also forgot to mention yesterdfay that on my return trip from the bridge the other night and south of Waters the Gaylord Groomer was deep off the trail in the ditch. I am sure that was a big project to get that out. Thanks for checking in and Please ride Safely. Pete

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Snow will diminish this morning, ending by early afternoon. Some parts in northeast lower and far eastern upper Michigan may break out into partial sunshine this afternoon. However, north-northwest to northwest winds today will remain brisk. Gusts to around 30 mph will be common. That will produce areas of blowing and drifting snow today, especially in places that are more open and exposed. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeySnow will diminish this morning, ending by early afternoon. Friday 12/6 update. I’ll start with the good news, all trails currently open in our system were groomed last night/early this morning (🚨reminder: trail 19 from Whiskey Creek to Hart remains closed until til January 1st please keep out or you are trespassing and will be ticketed!). Your best bet is to ride the North and rail sections to Reed City along with our middle sections from Baldwin to the South T🤪to just beyond the Woodland Park area. We also groomed the South section from Newaygo Sports Park to the 8 mile area late last night. The southern most part was thin with snow and turned out pretty snirty it’s rideable but I’d avoid that area if possible. From the M-20 parking area west of White Cloud to the north, there are good sections and bad. The hilliest areas have extreme ruts, water holes, and 2 to 3 foot deep bumps in places. Take it extremely cautiously through these areas as some bumps I went airborn and spilled my coffee at 5mph🚨I can only imagine what it would feel like on a sled! This was the first groom of this section for the season so we attempted to cut some bumps and atv/truck ruts resulting in some dirt mixed in. Please do us a favor and if you see hazards like rocks, large limbs and such in the trails please stop to throw them off the trail if you can do so safely. Please notify us here if you come across any hazards such as large downed trees or other debris and we will do our best to get them cleared out. As always, ride right and please ride sober. Also watch for groomers as there will be some out during the day today trying to get one last groom in to set things on before the big warm up starting Saturday. – TRSC grooming team.
