Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 02/02

February 2, 2017

14 degrees this morning and snowing…..HARD!!! Picked up a solid 6 inches on my deck last night!!! The weather guessers have extended our lake effect advisory until Sat. now. They are saying up to at least a foot more when this is all said and done!!!! Hello February!!!

I did run the Falls trail yesterday and it turned out really good. We still have a small detour around a water hole that opened up so pay attention to a couple new stop signs with direction arrows for now. We should be able to get this fixed shortly with all this snow we are getting. Groomer Don is runnin the Point Trails as I write this. Not sure on the rest of the schedule but we`ll have the trails in tip top shape fer ya`s for the weekend.

Now, I gotta tell ya alittle story about what went on yesterday cause I am IMPRESSED and in a good mood….this is a true story.

I went out to the barn yesterday and started to prep my machine to run the Falls trail. To make a long story short, I noticed a problem, the water pump was leaking like a seave….toasted…..bummer!! Now we are down to just one groomer. I gave the boss a call ( Groomer Mike ) and he had a few choice words. Just our luck…only one groomer left, is about all I can write on this forem. So I took the remaining groomer and ran the Falls. Let me add, our new fuel injector pump did come in so his plan was to get this down machine runnin by today, or at least get a start on puttin it back together. So what happened is Mike and Groomer Gerald went out there after working all day at their regular jobs and went to work. The water pump from the first problem groomer was sittin on the bench cause we had to take it off to get at the injector pump. Anyways, they got the water pump changed out and the machine runnin again by the time I got back from the Falls run. They also got a blown hydralic line fixed on a drag AND started to put back together the original broken groomer. 5 hours work AFTER they worked all day on their regular jobs. That, my friends, is dedication!!!!! Most of you probably don`t care about all of this but you gotta realize we were down to one machine with a weekend coming and a foot and a half of snow coming too!!!! A HUGE kudos goes out to Mike and Gerald!!!!!! So now we have to wait for a new water pump to come in to get this other machine runnin again. Our luck sure has been tough this season. LET ER SNOW Groomer Chris

Trails are improving! I would say now they are Good if not a little better than that.

We’ve had consistent snow all week and it is suppose to continue to snow.

We had a 1/2 dozen or so renters go out today that said they thought the trails were excellent.

I wouldn’t quite call them excellent as of yet bet we are getting close. Temps are suppose to stay below freezing and the 10 day forecast looks great for snow and good riding.

We have a bunch of sleds left for rent this Sunday and a few left for Saturday, come on up and ride!
