Munising Area Trail Report – 12/30
TRAIL REPORT, Friday, December 30, 2022 7:30 a.m.
WELL THAT DID NOT LAST LONG!
Grooming is currently on hold. Wednesday evening temperatures climbed and snow became unworkable. We have lost about 50 percent of the snow with the warm weather over the past two days. Trails are becoming choppy with dirty snow. Temperatures are forecast to drop tonight but warm days still shown for the next 10 days and NO Snowfall. Grooming will be limited once we start back up. We will have a machine out on Trail 422 to Miners Castle today getting the reroute cut in and signed.
Please stay alert North of H-58. Also the Wetmore Spur East of Wetmore along M-28 is in rough condition near the big curve with steep backs. Ride with caution through there. Temperatures will start out cold with wind chills below -20F in the far eastern U.P. Frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes on exposed skin in these conditions.
