Ironwood / Western U.P. Trail Report – 01/13
IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 01/13
All trails are being groomed regularly. Traffic is very high and so are temps, expect bumpy afternoons. Get out early. Trails remain in good to very good condition. Trails will be soft around towns. Stop sign enforcement, loud exhaust enforcement, speed enforcement all occurring this weekend. Road route speed limits are the same as vehicles (don’t ever pass a car!). Please respect our neighbors and don’t drive like hell through our little slice of heaven. Ryan Christian did 11s last night and trail 8 the night before. Join us Saturday for the best damn 50th Anniversary Celebration & Fundraiser ever! Support your trails and YOUR all volunteer club!

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP >> Trail Report 1/30:
Not a great pic but that is Trail #1 along Lake Superior, what a difference!

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Hamilton's North Coast Adventures >> Riding across the Ontonagon River bridge on trail 12 is a sight to behold! You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
Trail's covered last night/this morning. 102, 8w, 8e and 13s. Trail's are in good to great shape! Get out and Enjoy...

WATERSMEET - WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club >> TRAIL REPORT- 1/29/27 Riders and Groomers are reporting excellent conditions throughout are trail system. Groomer Gary is out grooming the west run which is trail 2 and 13s. Groomer Jeff is grooming trail 3 Land o Lakes to Bonds Falls and trail 2 east. Temperatures will start out cold with wind chills below -20F in the far eastern U.P. Frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes on exposed skin in these conditions. Very few sleds are available the first two weeks in February! End of the month and March are wide open. We look forward to a late riding season, so get your self together and head for da North Coast! Please ride the West side before the highway cross over with caution as the recovery equipment left some snow piles and rough trail areas.
