NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA – 2/23

February 23, 2023 9:30 am

We groomed to holland lake and to Rexton Tuesday night but did not groom last night as we had no new snow yesterday. We plan to groom all trails tonight. It is currently 12 degrees and snowing, we did receive about 3 inches of snow on Tuesday and have significant snow in todays forecast. Remember when you are on the side of a road always ride on the right side!

Trail 9: did not groom last night but did groomed on Tuesday night. Logging operations are finished and county roads 415 and 422 are now being groomed but snow is still a bit thin. good.

Trail 498: Not Groomed last night but was groomed Tuesday. Good.

Trail 45: Not groomed last night. Fair. there is about 5 miles of dirt from skyline to camp 7 rd. There is logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There is also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions are being plowed and could be bumpy or rutted. Very Good in spots

Trial 9/2: Not groomed last night but groomed to Rexton on Tuesday night. Conditions being reported as fair.

Thank you to all the team at the groomers barn who puts in countless hours to keep the system groomed and maintenance on the machines!

Your grooming team from the TASA Barn!!

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> 8:21:PM Doused the lights at the entrance of 9 again tonight to wait for a group headed to Newberry.
Pray for H2O free diesel, and fracture free Metalergy tonight! πŸ™
9:25 Check out this group, they have exiting and getting outta the way of the Groomer down to a Extreme Science! πŸ₯° ThankYou Very Much! You know who you are 😊
10:08 Lot and Lots of time to ponder things out here, and we see things out here sooner, and better from our picture windows and Lazy Boys, I was wondering how many of you come into corners at a Very respectful safety minded speed only to find a series of Rupp eating craters that had you in an entirely different spot half way around and coming out of that corner?
In and outta Windy Corners, I've done better, not the snows fault, kept loosing my prime, most, very nice, its a personal goal thing.
Intell has informed me we've had help grooming a chunk of 9 tonight, I'll keep you posted πŸ˜‰
11:43 Yes, we've added a guest 😊 #newberry #snowphotos

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 1/23/26
NEGATIVE 2 degrees this morning and snowing. We picked up around 6" of snow yesterday and another 6 or so last night! It`s down right winter out der! All good news for yesterdays happenings so lets rock-n-roll.....
Groomer Mike C. took off in the morning and headed into da south swamp with just a machine. I took off with a machine and drag and headed south also but skipped the swamp section. Before I got done with the South trail #8, Mike radioed me and said hit the swamp with the drag on my way back. He got it packed in pretty good and it turned out good with the drag. It is only one lane for now but we`ll fix that tomorrow. THE GATES ARE NOW OPEN!!!!
After that Groomer Mike C. headed out on the Falls trail #45 with just the machine and Groomer Glenn pulling a drag following him. They got that trail packed in and groomed, it turned out great!!! Groomer Mike C. put in 12 hrs. in a machine yesterday filling and packing in water holes! Great job!!!
Today we are running the Pine Stump trails #8 & #9 and the Point trails #452 & #453. Not sure what we are gonna do with the other machine.
So......total green flag for our entire trail system!!!! COME ON UP and enjoy our hard work!!!!!!
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

11 degrees this morning and snowing. I got a solid 3" on my deck from last night too! Just giving you a quick update before I head out da door to go grooming. I`ve got all good news so lets go.......
Groomers Mike C. and Glenn worked on our down machine all day yesterday and think they have it fixed! Seems to have been a sensor issue...darn electronics anywho. I am taking her out today and running the South trail #8. While I`m doing that, Groomer Mike C. is gonna go into the south swamp and see if he can get it packed in enough to send me thru with the drag on my way back! If all goes well we`ll have at least one lane groomed thru there and we can open the gates!!! When he gets done in there he will hit the Falls trail #45.
Groomer Keith hit the Pine Stump trails #8 & #9 yesterday and rated them as good.
More good news.....Groomer Patrick ran the Point trails #452 & #453 and rated them as good to go. The water holes on the North section are froze in now!!!
So.....everythings good to go in PANR land!! Thank you Mother Nature!!!! COME ON UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 02/23

SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 02/23

Good afternoon!
Anyone in the Soo and surrounding area, please comment on snow totals so far. I’m out of town still so I have no idea.
Groomer Mike P hit trail 49 from the Soo to Kinross and back AND even made it through the beaver pond with zero issues!🙌🏼🙌🏼
He sent these pics from his run today. Looking 100% better than just the other day!
Thanks Mike! Hope the snow and cold continue!❄️❄️❄️

Good morning all!

Groomer Pete sent us this report after his run on the city trails last night.

β€œCity is groomed. Had a guest from one of our commercial supporters. Zach from Allstar Marine & Powersports wanted to see what was involved with grooming. He was a great guest and he learned a lot about the process. Maybe he will start volunteering!

Anyways, I would grade the trails as good. The 3” of fresh snow Monday certainly helped, but there is still a lot of ice out there. The city plowed the north side of the airport, so there was a lot of ice and dirty snow covering half the trail. It’s better now, but please be careful going towards the I500 track and Holiday Inn. There may be some ice chunks on the trail.
Looking forward to seeing how much new snow we pick up the next few days. Forecasts all look promising!”

Thank you Pete and Zach! Always awesome to have new volunteers! ❄️❄️❄️
