Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 12/23

A little bit of snow over night with the temps hovering around 33 degrees. Changing to rain this afternoon and maybe a rain snow mix tomorrow, it don’t look good. Trail #8 going west is ok and rideable. Snow is very low around Kinross, we were going to try to groom it Saturday but would have done more damage then good. Swamp areas are still wet.

Dec 23 – Nothing new or good to report on trail conditions. The temps have been hovering around freezing since Saturday. We did have a inch of snow overnight but it suppose to rain this afternoon but maybe a snow/rain mix tomorrow. Some sections of our trail have not even seen the groomer do to water, we would break up ice that the sleds can ride on. There is enough snow on most sections of trails to ride but not very good.

Dec 19 – Groomers reporting trails going east and northwest out of Raco, trail #8, in good shape, we turn around at Gravel Pit Road halfway to Paradise.

Dec 19 – Temps dropped to 1 below last night and groomers went out in our dry areas. Trail #8 going west from the Soo thru Brimley, Raco, and then north half way to Paradise where we turn around will be in ok condition. We will evaluate our wet areas as the water slowly moves away on when to groom. Most of them will have enough ice to hold your sled but not the groomer.
