Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Lake Gogebic News >> A slow melt is underway around Lake Gogebic.
➡️ Mixed weekday temperatures will make conditions vary, but Mud Season is creeping up on us.
➡️ Here are snapshots of our driveway and lakefront.
➡️ Thin, icy patches are melting, but deep snowdrifts will take longer.
➡️ The melting that’s underway is exposing some of the debris leftover from the season’s first big winter storm. #lakegogebic #westernup

Ironwood Trail Report – 12/19

The section of trail between Bessemer, MI & Wakefield, MI may currently be impassable for inexperienced riders due to water/mud holes. We continue to see traffic during the first part of the week, which we know has likely used up the snow bridges from put in place Sunday morning. Groomers have been off the trail since Sunday 11am due to temps; moving warm snow only helps it melt faster. So does the weight of our equipment. Looks like we will recover on or just after Christmas, so get those trips booked! GREAT temps and GREAT snow forecast! Trail reports will be updated once we see rolling groomers out again. Rail beds still look flat and mostly white, a bit of a snirt strip down the center is seen throughout, some sections complete snirt. Stay tuned and think snow!
