Trail 2 from Hurley to Ramsay Crossing has been packed and panned and is in fair condition. From Ramsay Crossing to Wakefield is poor. There is water flowing between Blackjack and Indianhead Mountain. Wakefield to Marenisco is poor and has not been rolled.

Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 12/05

LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – Wednesday, December 5th

Welcome back to Sled Season in the Lake Gogebic Area! We do have snow, but are advising riders that it would be best to wait at least one more weekend before making the trip. Groomers were out yesterday on the East side of Lake Gogebic from Bergland to the Root Cellar (trail 13). The Marenisco crew went down from Marenisco to the Ojibway Rd (trail 1). Snow depth in the area ranges from 4″ to 10″. Groomers are trying to pack and freeze down the wet areas. Some of the higher ground trails like the rail grades are ride-able but very low snow. Most swamps and water crossings are still open. The lake has froze, but it is NOT recommended to ride quite yet. If you will be riding please us, extreme caution as stumps, rocks, and wet locations are everywhere.

We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the area very soon and everyone in our community has been working hard to make sure we can deliver a great riding experience. We are very proud to announce that we have a new barn in Marenisco that is home to a groomer and drag for the South end of the lake. Thank you to all who have joined the club and donated to the groomer – we certainly couldn’t do it without everyone’s help! We will keep you posted and thank you to everyone who help to make our area a great place to visit and ride!!
