Trail 2 from Wakefield to Marensico is poor to fair last groomed 1/3/2021
Trail 8 from Wakefield to Tula Crossing is poor to fair last groomed 12/26/2020
Trail 160 from Walmart to Montreal River (WI) is poor to fair last groomed 12/28/2020

Gogebic Area Groomers Report 12/29/2020
Groomers have been out. Trail 8 East from Bergland to Ewen has been groomed, Trail 13 North towards Rockland and 13 South has been groomed. Trail 1 from Bergland to White Pine is groomed and 102N and 1 South are being groomed now. There are many wet spots starting to show, but freezing up with the cold temps. We need more snow. 8 West will be broke tomorrow.

Snow totals ranged from little to nothing along the Superior shoreline due to the warm lake temperatures, to 2 feet plus in the higher terrain of Marquette and Baraga Counties. Heavy wet snow will arrive later tonight into Thursday morning as a low pressure system lifts into the Great Lakes. Strong northerly winds are expected and blowing snow is likely. Widespread 8-12 inches are forecast; higher amounts in excess of 2 feet are forecast across the higher terrain of Marquette and Baraga Counties into Thursday morning. Note: A sharp gradient in snow totals is expected just inland from the Great Lake-especially along the Lake Superior shoreline in Baraga and Marquette Counties. WINTER STORM WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Winter Storm Warnings have been issued! Heavy wet snow is expected tonight into Thursday morning as a low pressure system lifts into the Great Lakes. Widespread 8-12 inches are forecast; higher amounts in excess of 1-2 feet are forecast across the high terrain of Marquette and Baraga Counties into Thursday morning. Note: A sharp gradient in snow totals is expected between the lower amounts (up to a foot or more near Marquette County lakeshores) and the heavier accumulations in the higher terrain of the west. Widespread 20 to 25 mph winds with gusts up to 35 to 45 mph are expected across Upper Michigan. Gusts as high as 50 to 55 mph are possible along Lake Superior and in the Keweenaw causing blowing snow and reducing visibilities. Needless to say it was not what any of us wanted. But like anything else you take the good with the bad. All we can do is hope for more favorable conditions in year's to come. ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via Hamilton's North Coast Adventures >> Well, we didn't see or hear any riders around the shop with all the fresh snow we just got, so we had to go out and investigate! As of this morning there is a general 1-2.5' down, more in traditional west wind snowbelt zones. Like da porkies! There is 1.5-2.5' of snow on South Boundary Road yet and its only seen 2 sleds! Zero tracks on 102 (hopefully no one beats me to that today!) We parked at the visitor center sign on SBR. Lake of the Clouds was plowed, not recommended. Our cottage rental is open. Free guide if you stay with us! SBR is a great 30+ mile option to get out and ride. Lakes are not safe, rivers are not safe. Ride smart and have fun!! LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> Yes, we have received quite a bit of snow over the past week. Will the groomers be going out? No. There's a lot of slush and running water hidden under all this fresh. With the official end of season coming this Sunday and having only a few segments that are hard pack road grade it's not worth us taking the risk of costing our club more money by getting stuck or whatever else could possibly happen with a few runs. If you choose to ride, ride with extreme caution and be aware a hazard could be around any corner. Also be aware that Mi has closed 13n from Bergland to Rockland. #lakegogebic #westernup
