Harbor Springs Area Trail Report – 02/15

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> 02/15

The temperatures dropped off last night and were able to get two groomers out. We groomed the grade from Pellston to Mackinaw, trail 717 from the grade to Ely Bridge Road & from the Harbor Barn to North Conway (just past the power lines) along with the majority of the west side of our trail system.

It’s going to be another beautiful day to get out and ride, be sure to stop by one of our sponsors to grab a bite to eat! Audie’s Restaurant, Beach’s Up North Tavern, Clyde’s Place, Moose Jaw Junction, Northwood Family Restaurant.

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> Mother Nature sure decided to send winter out with a bang! Since Friday morning we’ve received at least 3 feet of snow and the high winds have created some unbelievable drifting. In some areas, drifts have reached well over 7 feet tall. We haven’t seen conditions like this in 10-15 years.
Our first groomer will be heading out on the grade tomorrow morning & we have a pair headed out in the woods tomorrow evening BEFORE dark. If you are out riding, please be aware of the groomers and give them plenty of space.
We appreciate everyone’s patience while we work to get things opened back up. #harborsprings #petoskey #snowphotos

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Lingering icing across parts of northern lower MI this morning transitions to snow area-wide today. Several inches of new snow likely through tonight, heaviest across parts of the eastern U.P. and northwest lower. Snow combined with strong winds will result in whiteouts at times, especially near the Lake Michigan shoreline.
*Additionally, strong winds in areas that received heavy icing will exacerbate tree damage and infrastructural impacts*
Cold temperatures filter in to northern Michigan behind the major winter storm. Consequently, for those without power, dangerously cold temperatures are expected this afternoon through Tuesday night. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey

Harbor Springs Trail Report – 02/13

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> 02/13

Happy Friday!! We had all three groomers out last night and the trails are in good shape. We are running out of workable snow & could use a good snow storm but have a great base. Temperatures are currently above freezing so we will not be sending groomers out tonight, it’s not looking great for getting out the rest of the weekend either. We will keep you updated as the weekend goes on.
