HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 01/19
We had a great turnout for the 60th Annual Moose Jaw Safari! We had roughly 160 sleds leave from the groomer barn & picked up multiple groups along the way. Thank you to this years trail boss Rob Parson for leading the way!
The trails are getting thin in some areas but are still rideable, the forecast is showing 8” between today & Wednesday! Almost all of our trails were groomed between yesterday morning & last night. We will be out on the grade tonight running Pellston to Alanson, there’s not enough snow to go any further north.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Light snow chances linger today, mainly across eastern Upper Michigan, with highs in the mid to upper 30s to low 40s. WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> We know you'll pass by this post for snowfall today, but here on February 12th, 2026, it's quite a reflective moment to see just how far we have come this winter. Just a couple weeks ago it was lake effect snow every single day. Today, a light band of 1-3" near Munising is all we will need to write home about. We even tossed in some humor for those not in a designated snowfall zone. A couple slick spots will pop up along M-28 near Munising, and perhaps around Petoskey if a longer lake effect band happens to form, but this is more unlikely than likely.

Those north of the bridge will see around another 1” through this afternoon with most areas getting less than 1”. Freezing drizzle will be possible across northern Michigan into this afternoon. Josh groomed 76 to 765 then to trail 7 the railroad grade. From there he went to Weber Lake on 765 and 76. Then groomed 76 back to Chandler Hill Road. #petoskey #snowphotos

Overall the trails are in good shape but we really need some fresh snow. Warmer temperatures are on the way for this weekend which will really take a toll on the conditions & the ability to groom.
