St. Ignace Trail Report – 03/21

So I hope you are all working on the family to get some time to go sledding on Easter, cause it is gonna happen! Trails are in fantastic shape right now, and the base is crazy deep for the 3rd week of March. Mother Nature must have just delayed winter for a month, cause it is still here and going strong. Light flurries today, will give way to sun tomorrow and a perfect sledding weekend. We received between 6-10″ of snow across the trail system since last weekend, and I don’t need to detail different trail condition locations today as they are all in really good shape. Lots of base, lots of cover, lots of fun.
Forecast for the coming week is for just above temps, which will settle the snow a little, but it won’t hurt that base as all.

Today: Snow showers likely, mainly before 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 27. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tonight: A 40 percent chance of snow showers before 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 19. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Friday: Cloudy, with a high near 31. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 34. North wind around 5 mph.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 20.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Base: 18 inches

Snowfall Past 24 hours: 2 inches

Last Grooming: Daily – usually @ night

Current Trail Conditions: Excellent

Indian River Trail Report – 03/21

Windy with more lake effect is the forecast for today. We’re about ready to say ‘uncle’ with all this snow around here. We have anywhere from 6 to 12″ of fresh snow on our trails, with the heaviest being to the south and west. Any direction you head you will find excellent trail conditions and light traffic. We’ve seen a few die-hards coming into town the last couple days–they will have awesome riding. The guys groomed last night and had trouble packing down all the snow. There’s just so much snow out there. Doesn’t look like we’ll see the sun until the weekend…Happy Spring Riding to you~

Base: 6 inches

Snowfall Past 24 hours: 3 inches
