Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 12/24

SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 12/24

From groomers Jay and Pete tonight…

“ ‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the Soo, the groomers are busy making trails for you! Groomer Jay and Groomer Pete took our new Tucker out on the city trails tonight. They cut trees, moved debris, busted drifts, and packed A LOT of snow. The things these boys will do to get back on the nice list.

The city trails are in pretty good shape. Lots of tag alders popping through the snow. We put a lot of snow in ditches and water holes. We could really only pan, and a lot of blade work. The trails are soft, so be careful! City will be groomed again tomorrow night. Merry Christmas to all!”

The camp remnants on 49 mentioned in a previous post have been removed. We want to recognize and thank Rylin and Garryn Ordiway for their awesome efforts. They were out riding and stopped to help these guys remove the debris. It is very much appreciated! Snowmobilers rule!

By the way, it’s still snowing🙌🏼❄️🎄

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/19/26
Jay and I hit the city trails last night and they are in good shape. Some choppy spots due to heavier traffic earlier, but we smoothed them out as best we could and saw very little traffic on our run.
Snow was falling the whole run and should be a beautiful ride in the morning.
Enjoy! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0119 #snowphotos

Munising Area Trail Report – 12/24

TRAIL REPORT, Saturday, December 24, 2022 6:00 p.m.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Lots of snow on the ground as we are two days into getting hammered by this blizzard. High winds are forecast through Christmas Day. Amounts of snow vary but more than knee deep with very large drifts across the area. Our Members that have ventured out on sleds are reporting challenging riding conditions with very deep snow, whiteout conditions and downed trees. Groomers are not currently operating due to the hazardous weather conditions. With Christmas being tomorrow groomers will not start cleaning up the trails until Monday. This is expected to take most of the week getting our entire system cleared and groomed. Please ride with extreme caution until we have trails completed.
