Traverse City Trail Report – 12/26

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Ranch Rudolf – 12/26

And update for 12/27:

On Tuesday, 12/27, we will be open 11am to 6pm with food available at the counter 12pm to 4pm.

The 26th was our first official day of snowmobile season, it was great to see so many of you out and enjoying the trails and snow! A big thank you to the VOLUNTEERS at the Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club who were out grooming 👏👏. The north and east trails were done; there was also much cleanup and downed trees/branches that was taken care of on these trails. The west trail will be groomed on 12/27. Trails are in very good shape overall considering we really had no base to start with before the storm.

The time is now!

TRAVERSE CITY UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> We received about 6-8+ inches of snow today. Groomer Dirk and Groomer David went out on the South and North routes today. The trails groomed up nice, however, both report heavy drifting in areas. Thanks guys for volunteering your time. We will be grooming the south and west trails tomorrow. Remember, Ride Right, Ride Safe, Ride Sober.
When your out riding this weekend, stop by our business sponsor that's on trail 5! Ranch Rudolf has been a long time supporter of GTASC. Stop on by for a bite to eat and refreshments. Sit by the fire and take the chill out from those trails. Follow them on Facebook for the most up to date hours. Thanks Ranch Rudolf for supporting GTASC. Please support those businesses that support our sport. #traversecity #snowphotos

Petoskey Area Trail Report – 12/26

PETOSKEY AREA UPDATE via Petoskey Snowmobile Club – 12/26

Given the recent Blizzard and high winds, hearing of lack of grooming going on, I’m making the experienced guess that there is drifting abound and possible debris down and/or trees, hidden obstacles, etc.

Ride with care until we get some grooming in or updated status is conveyed to report.

JORDAN VALLEY AREA UPDATE via Jordan Valley Trails Council >> Hats off to Mike, Rich and Pete for spending two cold days fixing a minor issue found on the track of the Pisten Bully! These guys have been on the recovery and fix of the blown track and this latest fix this year and we couldn’t do it without them! Hopefully our machine issues are behind us for the year!
Our Milwaukee Tool are a key part of program. From our impacts, grease guns and chainsaws in the cab of our units, these tools make our volunteers lives easier! Hopefully next year we’ll have a building in Alba to get out of the weather. Go check out the go fund me or visit the Antrim County Snowmobile Club and help us make this happen! gofund.me/a9c1cde53
Our groomers were out all weekend making up for the down machine. Thank you to our volunteers for adjusting their schedules! Trails have come back around since we’ve received some fresh snow to mix in with the crusty snow left from the meld down. Looks like we may receive another foot by next weekend which will help build back up the trail. This week will be frigid so we will adjust grooming as needed for snowfall and temps. Make sure you check out Groomer Tracker for all our grooming!
🚧Trail 4 near the Pinney Bridge there was a car in the trail today, please use caution as the trail maybe rutted from the vehicle or recovery effort🚧 #jordanvalley #gaylord #petoskey #snowphotos

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> Thank you to everyone who came out for the 61st Annual Moose Jaw Safari! We had about 175 sleds leave the barn and nearly 300 by the time we reached the town hall. It turned into a beautiful day, with the sun even making an appearance. Our club members worked hard all week preparing the bean soup and getting everything ready, and we truly appreciate such an amazing turnout. #harborsprings #petoskey #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
