KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via The U.P. Superior Snowmobile Club – 12/30
Trail update from our groomer operator, Todd. We groomed 13 West last night. Honary Groomer Dan, my brother, rode along with me. Snow was very sticky at the beginning of our run but began to flow better after our turn around as the temperature fell. Caution to riders to refrain from riding a short section of the ditch along M26 due to standing water. No other wet areas to report. Trail is in great shape as all moguls were smoothed out.

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Krupps Resort – 12/30
Got my first run in for the year!!!! Had so much fun!! We left Krupp’s Resort headed north, trail 3 to trail 17, ate lunch at Michigan House in calumet and decided to head back to see how riding south from the resort was. Ended up riding trail 13 to Greenland stopping at The Pit Stop and then 3 north back to the resort. The ride back was a bit bumpy but the groomers were out! Otherwise trails were awesome, thank you to all those that work on the trails! The day was so nice out and I was so happy to ride with these friends! I’ve known them for years and was so happy to finally join them for a ride! Hope everyone can get out and enjoy the outdoors!! Have a great day everyone!

We received another 6.5 inches this morning and it's still snowing at 10:00am. Pretty much white out conditions all morning and it's still very poor visibility.
Stay warm it's only 1° right now.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Tonight and Monday morning, moderate to occasionally heavy lake effect will be accompanied by strong winds and create blowing snow concerns. KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Snowmobile Club >> HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣 For the first time since the 2018 Fathers Day flood, our team was able to open and groom the Freda Loop! There are still some wet spots and many sticks (early season conditions on this trail) but it’s OPEN y’all! Shoutout to the guys from the South Range Snowmobile Club who assisted yesterday in cutting the down trees and getting it prepped for the team to pack in today! Please note the “spur” to Freda is NOT repaired and NOT open or accessible! #keweenaw #snowphotosHUGE ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣 For the first time since the 2018 Fathers Day flood, our team was able to open and groom the Freda Loop! KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via The Lakeshack >> With 3” of new snow it brings our total to 133.35” for the season and a total current depth here in Twin Lakes to 33”
I can personally say that it seems like quite a bit more deep in the woods seeing some mounds on stumps etc…
It looks like some significant snows will move in again tonight, so keep an eye on the Shackiecam for 24/7 live streaming coverage

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports >> W❄️W! What an amazing week it has been on the trails!
The first half of the week was unusually quiet as far as traffic and the trails seriously couldn’t have been better! As we move into the weekend, traffic is definitely picking up but trails have still been in great shape! Huge thank you to all of the clubs and groomer operators!
Ryan Bennet and Nikki McGill set out to enjoy some of the trails this morning from Krupps Resort and they weren’t disappointed! Ryan shared these photos with us and said, “Have had a GREAT day so far! Ran down 3 to 12, over to 174 down to Sidnaw. Back up 109 through the Sturgeon River Gorge, ran up to Church in the Valley Bar. Will be taking 109 back to Twin Lakes. What a great 160+ mile day!”
This weekend and upcoming week’s forecast includes fresh snow and colder temps each day! Just what ever sledder ordered!
