WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Light snow continues across NW Lower and E Upper through tonight with generally an additional 1-2” expected by Tuesday morning. HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> Happy February! ☃️
Overall, our trails are in great shape! The only rough section is where they are logging on 71/Chadderdon Rd. We had a groomer out on the grade last night from Pellston to Alanson & two out tonight, one on the grade from Pellston to Mackinaw & the other on the west side of our trail system. We plan to have at least one groomer out every day this week & through the weekend.
🪵 Logging Operation – Trail 71 🪵
There is still an active logging operation on Trail 71 at Chadderdon Road. Although numerous signs are posted, we are still seeing riders not slowing down.
Please use extreme caution in this area:
- Skidders and log trucks are entering and traveling on the trail
- SLOW DOWN
- If you encounter logging equipment coming toward you, get off the trail or turn around until you can safely move aside
- Do not try to go around them — they are much larger than you, cannot stop quickly, and have the right of way
Your safety (and theirs) depends on it.

Clouds increase tonight, and snow is likely late tonight into Monday morning. Accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are likely in eastern upper and northwest lower Michigan, with an inch or less in northern lower Michigan.
