Today we had a gentleman call and was wondering how the trails are… we asked 2 snowmobilers and they said actually pretty good, they were coming from Higgins and heading to Gaylord next…. I told the guy I would take some pictures of the trails on my way out and post them. Here is trail7 in front of the Swamp II Bar & Restaurant in Frederic MI and also the trailhead and Trail off 612 in Fredeic…
Weather is always moody, but calling for rain tomorrow and snow every day after! 4 day weekend coming up!

We had a warm up last week, followed by some fresh powder over the weekend. All trails have been groomed, but last week’s weather has left them in fair to good condition. You’ll find some areas that are very low on snow at this time and also may encounter wet spots. The groomers were able to flatten everything down, but expect to find overall icy conditions until we receive more snow. Grooming is halted until we have some fresh snow. Be safe out there and have fun!
Please note, due to last April’s ice storm, there are logging operations in several locations. The newest locations are around Van Tyle and North Townline Road (Gaylord) and the intersection of trails 7 & 4 (Waters) toward Dodge Lake. Logging is also taking place on trail #4 along the powerline that crosses Evergreen Drive and near Turtle Lake Road (East of Gaylord). The logging trucks may use the trail as a road at times. Proceed with caution in these areas. Trails are still passable and the groomers are doing their best to smooth the trails out in these areas.
If this winter is anything like last year, it’s going to be another epic one! Want to be ready? Get a free trail map delivered right to your mailbox and plan your adventure!

A few things to remember about our groomers and trails:
– Groomers are out there to help you have a better riding experience and always have the right of way.
– Please move off the trail when groomers are approaching and allow them to safely pass.
– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night, so stay alert.
– Always ride on the right side of the trail.
– Ride safe and ride sober.

It’s a nice calm monday morning with no new snow. I never put an update out on sunday but we had about 5 inches of new snow late saturday night. It was very quiet around Frederic yesterday as the snow came late but for those that got to ride it it made a pleasant surprise. That is including me. We headed out for a ride about 3 and found alot of great snow and rode over to Lovells and around the air to ground and back. I acutually saw the grayling groomer out but he was coming from behind the high school and turning on to 47 trail. Of course trail 7 still had not been touched and it beat me up again. I sure dont know what the deal is on that. We found alot of deep snow out there and while its supposed to be around 32 today and tommorow it should turn colder towards the weekend so I think it will be o.k. Still alot of ice underneath and we did hit plenty of wet water holes last night too. It was about 10 by the time I got back home. All the pics below are from our ride yesterday and the other 2 guys standing by the shop were a couple of canadians (eh) that stopped in. Brian and his Uncle Wayne King stopped by. The cool thing on this pic is Uncle Wayne is 84 years young and still riding his sled. Thanks for stopping by guys. Thanks for checking in. Pete
