We got 2-3” of fresh powder overnight! It’s absolutely beautiful this morning ❄❄ Rode trail 677 to Caberfae Peaks for breakfast! Ski slopes are amazing too! ⛷

33 Rd Staging Area–S of M-55–approx.. 3 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs)
Caberfae Staging Area–approx.. 12 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs)
Boon Staging Area–park in plowed area south of Boon Grocery
Note: The porta-a-johns were removed from our staging areas today as our contracts on them expired 3-15-13.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Accumulating snow will continue to spread across northern Michigan today into Sunday. Accumulations remain consistent to this mornings forecast with 3-6” for most of the area and localized 7”+ possible where heaviest snow falls this evening and tonight. No big changes for the UP, although a bit more snow is now forecast for the Keweenaw and central UP. Winter is coming back, and trail base has held up surprisingly well! Our early season snows and panning have paid off, as most all trails are showing no dirt. 3-6″ of snow is expected in the next 24 hours, and it’s snowing lightly now. With this fresh snow, riding can resume in our area and hopefully grooming efforts will restart soon... #cadillac

Strong winds are in store later today with gusts to 35-50 mph through this afternoon. Mild temps this morning will fall through the day, eventually transitioning rain to snow across parts of northern Michigan. WEATHER UPDATE via Pictured Rocks Marine Weather Conditions >> OK, here's the latest! Shown below is the expected 24-hour snowfall accumulation from 7pm today through 7pm Friday, along with the 24-hour snowfall from 7am Saturday through 7am Sunday. The 12-hour "gap" in between those two periods is the lull between the two waves of snow, when not much is expected to happen. And the snowmelt from the warm spell today should largely have ceased by then. More snow is also expected after 7am on Sunday and even into Monday, but it's a bit too early to call the snow amounts for that time period.
