Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 12/01

December 1, 2020
Well…….Hell…..This is the official "opening day" of sno-mo season and there isn`t a lick of snow on the ground, in fact, the ground isn`t even froze yet. It is only 23 degrees outside though…..thats a plus. Looking at the weather for the next week, it doesn`t look like it will start to snow either. Hate to be a "debbie downer" about this but it is what it is. I guess then I`ll just go into what we`ve been UP to these last few weeks.

All of our trails are ready to go as far as brushing and signing. This just pertains to the high ground that we can get to with trucks and quads. I do want to mention there is A LOT of water on them this year. More than I have seen in the 20 yrs. I have been doing this!! This means its gonna take a lot more time to freeze them in this winter so be patient when the time comes. I will keep ya`ll well informed on here of our progress as we go.

As far as the groomers go…..we have 2 of them ready to go. We are waiting on the factory mechanic to come UP and finish the 3rd one. This one had a final drive assembly gettin ready to let lose. The mechanic found this problem when he was here last spring doing warranty work. He said it might have lasted another month, so he tore it apart then, instead of out on the trail this winter and its very complicated with a dozen gears and bearings and bushings and the like, thats why we didn`t dare to tackle it. He`s supposed to be back sometime in the next week or two. This damn virus has him set back quite a bit so thats why it isn`t fixed yet.

I guess thats all I have to report for now.
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paradise Area Trail Report – 03/18

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org – 3/18

March 18, 2020

It is with deep regret and sorrow that we are announcing the end of grooming for the season. Due to this stupid virus and all the restaurants and bars closing and most of the hotels in town closing also, there seems to be nobody UP here.

Our trails are still in pretty decent shape and there is still good riding to be had. They are hard and flat. We do still have a good 2 foot of snow on the ground. The gas station in town says they will remain open but have shorter hours. Us here at Saunders Sunrise Cabins will remain open and we do have kitchenettes to cook your own food, in case you do want to come UP for one last ride.

I think you will all agree our trails this season were pretty darn good for the weather we had to deal with. We got a late start and an early finish but all in all a successful season. I didn`t want it to end this way (early), but it is what it is. We do plan on having brushing parties this fall and I will announce them this summer sometime so check back from time to time to keep updated.

So, I will bid you all a good fairwell and thanks for following me and trusting me for honest trail reports and riding with us. Till next season……..LET `ER SNOW!
