March 13, 2026 – 6:20 pm update: – FRIDAY EVENING – Winter has returned and is going to throw its weight around this weekend. The snow belts of the U.P. picked up medium to heavy accumulations of snow from the Friday snow. The base is strong in most areas however you will likely encounter some problems from the recent warm up. Saturday should be a good day for snowmobiling. The next big snow storm arrives on Saturday night and lasts through Sunday into Monday. The forecast is for heavy amounts of snow and wind. Travel may be difficult on Sunday so be careful on the roads.

Northern Lower Michigan picked up some snow from the storm on Friday. You will probably be able to find limited area for good riding with limited or no grooming. The area north of Gaylord still has the most snow. Parts of Northern Lower Michigan will receive a snow ice / rain mix on Sunday. Keep an eye on the weather as driving may by difficult Sunday.
