March 3, 2026 – 11:11 pm update: – TUESDAY EVENING – The BIG WARM UP has arrived. The forecast for the week ahead is warm temperatures and some rain with highs in the 40s and 50s. Temps dip below 32 degrees for lows the next couple of nights, however there are stretches of time with lows at night above 32 degrees. Grooming is likely to be suspended for a while, especially when temps stay above 32 degrees. Most of the snow belts in the U.P. have very strong bases, so the trails may very well be able to survived the warm up. Cold weather returns next week. Stay tuned.

In Northern Lower Michigan, it’s time to get out asap for what might be your last ride of the season. The warm up is likely to take the trails down to poor to marginal conditions. We’ll need good cold weather and snow next week to get the trails going again.
