Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/02

Wow a whole inch of new snow overnight. As I figured sled traffic yesterday was a repeat of last weekend. Still riders saying it was better than they thought it would be but still riders who said it was rough as can be…… but hey at least they were riding. Forcast shows us getting some new snow this week which might bring it around better by next weekend. Time will tell.

I see many people commenting about the enforcement of the rails and how they wont come around here…..its simple, learn the law and then stay the heck away from the tracks. Its not just Frederic its statewide law and probably nationwide with the railroads. I know its very confusing as many railroad grade trails are now trails and many people think the railway here in Frederic is not a working railroad but trains go thru here everyday……I have tried to warn people for years about staying from the tracks and I wish the state would somehow make people more aware when they do register their sleds. Thats about all I can say about this for now. Most people never even know they are doing anything wrong…….

That’s about it for today. Thanks for checking in. Pete
