Gaylord Area Trail Report – 12/14

December 14, 2020 – 11:10 a.m.

Trails can officially open as soon as we have enough snow! In the meantime, tune up your sled, dust off your gear and request your free Snowmobile Trail Map so you’re ready to ride. Please remember, a solid base is needed before the groomers are able to maintain the trails. We’ll see you soon!

Monday morning the 14th,
I have been trying to sign onto my regular webpage at frederic-mi.com and I cant get on it for some reason so I am just doing my update on this page, Sleds were out and about on sunday and while it wasnt busy the riders that were out were having a good ride. Considering 3 days ago we had zero snow things held up pretty good for what we do have. Its getting well worn now and hopefully we wont lose this and at least get a base started. My back parking lot ended up pretty full with trucks and trailers yesterday with riders who came up for a quick ride. Maybe things will be in good riding order by Christmas…….Thanks for checking in. Pete

Snowmobile Trail Conditions

Snowmobile trails are in early season condition throughout the Keweenaw. Up to 3 inches of snow on the ground. Watch out for rocks, wet spots and other impediments as snow levels are low.

Trail Closures: Trail 133 is closed for logging this season. The trail section from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden (portion of Trail 3) and the Freda Trail (Trails 121 & 120) will be closed the entire season for repair.
