Cadillac Area Trail Report – Cadillac Trails – 02/27

Sunday, February 27, 2011
Snow Accumulation: 9 inches*

A note from our Al Green, our Trail Coordinator: "The 8120 just left my house headed for Bristol and the Pine River so now all 3 groomers are out again tonight. All 3 were out last night and 2 went out early this morning. The fresh snow last night turned most of the trails white again, and I even groomed the White Pine trail north to McGuires last night for the first time in several days. It was very thin, but it was WHITE. One of the groomers out running a tractor right now runs a sled rental business and he told me the following:" "I just had my best 5 days of sled rental ever!!! I had to borrow sleds from others just to cover all of the reservations. We trailered all rentals out to the 33 Rd parking lot where they were ridden from there. Everyone was extremely pleased at how good the Cadillac trails were all weekend, and I was surprised that no slides or wear bars were worn out.” " The forecast is calling for warmer temperatures and freezing drizzle. Time will tell.

For forest access to our trail system, use the following Staging Areas:

Cadillac West Area: 33 Rd, 27 Rd (both off M55 W)

Caberfae Area: 13 Rd (off W M55)

Boon: By Boon Grocery

*Snow gauge located north of the 33 Rd Staging Area.
