HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 03/22
Within the last week we went from it being 65 and barely any snow to temps being in the 20’s and roughly 5-6” of snow on the ground. The snow we got was wet & heavy, there are trees and branches down everywhere. The weather is calling for another 3-6” tomorrow night, but temps during the day will be above freezing the restbof the week.
If you want to get in one last ride for the season this would be the would be the time but expect spring time conditions and stick to the trails in the woods. The sides of the roads are dirt / pavement, dirt road crossings are muddy, rocks coming through, water holes, washouts not filled in. Trees & branches down everywhere, it’s physically impossible for us to get everything cleaned up on sleds at this point.
We will be closing gates on Monday the 31st.

PETOSKEY AREA UPDATE via Petoskey Snowmobile and ORV Club >> Groomer Tracker app shows areas being groomed tonight, groomer Kyle just switched with groomer Matt. Matt is heading south on 76 from Chandler Hill Road to our turn around with Jordan Valley. The green dot are groomers. HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> We had all three groomers out last night & the snow was coming down! Everything was groomed other than the Alanson Trail & Cross Village loop. The Alanson trail has the least amount of snow on our system & there are still some open water holes but overall the trails are in good shape.
Trees are continuing to fall from the ice storm damage earlier this year so please keep that in mind when out riding & especially in high winds. If you come across a down tree & are unable to safely remove it from the trail please let us know.
Temperatures are supposed to stay cold through the weekend & we are expected to get another 2-6 inches of snow. There is a warm up predicted Tuesday-Thursday with possible rain, we are hoping that changes but we will keep everyone updated.
