Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 02/11

SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 02/10

Sure was nice to see a little snow today. We took a drive up to Paradise to see the falls, and stopped in to see our friends at The INN and the Magnuson Grand Lakefront Paradise. I wanted to remind you that if you had plans to come up, there is still so much to do and see. Businesses like these are so supportive of us snowmobilers, and they’re really missing seeing you all.

The falls are beautiful in the winter. The beaches are lacking the usual snow and ice cover, so if you’re a rock picker, you’re in luck!

There are so many cool spots to check out within easy driving distance from the Soo. Kitch-iti-Kipi, parts of Pictured Rocks, Newberry, Grand Marais, Cedarville, Brimley, Drummond Island, and several other towns all are great places to check out too! There are so many unique small businesses to visit.

Please consider keeping your reservations. It’s great to be able to talk with the business owners and employees that are still here, eagerly awaiting guests. If you normally come up to ride and want to still make the trip, feel free to message us. We’re happy to help with suggestions on places to check out.

Thanks all! ❄️❄️❄️

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/21/26
Good morning! Bryan and his son Logan hit the city trails last night and also 49 down to 7 mile and they turned out great! The little streams behind Kewadin Casino are still flowing (see the video in the comments) even with all of the cold, but our bridges have made a huge difference in there! There is one spot along the Kewadin trail that is soft and we keep filling it in as best we can. Likely a nonissue for the weight of a sled, but worth mentioning.
Thank you Bryan and Logan!!❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0121b #snowphotos

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/20/26
Good evening! Brimley Bill brought the Pisten Bully in to the Soo barn from Raco via trail 8 and groomed along the way. After 6”+ of new snow yesterday, the berms at the road crossings needed to be cleared.
He did a great job and the trail is flat, wide, and beautiful tonight!
The Bully is in for a thaw and an oil change and it’ll be back out to Raco tomorrow night.
Thanks Bill! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0120b #snowphotos

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 02/10

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 02/10

Well……it’s a start! It’s WHITE again! Hard to believe that on February 10th we would be so excited about receiving a dusting, to a couple inches of snow, in the higher elevations – but WE ARE! VERY EXCITED!

For all of you that did not give up on this winter, we truly believe the weather has made a change, FINALLY, for the better! The extended forecast has plenty of cold temps and Lake Superior is wide open, prime for adding some beautiful LES ❄️ to any good clippers/system snow we can get! Please note: WE NEED A LOT – but it’s the Keweenaw, and those that are familiar with the area, know that A LOT can come very quickly, when the conditions are right!

Last February we got dumped on with 26 inches of snow in 4 days! That is not uncommon for the area – as we all saw just this January when we had about a week of winter – with 60 plus inches of snow that dumped in a little over a week!

Keep doing those snow dances! ❄️💃🕺

Don’t forget, it is always possible to keep your reservations and still come up and enjoy the Keweenaw! There are so many fun, different activities! You can help support the area businesses! This lack of winter has really had a very negative impact on not only the businesses but the areas service industry employees too! When out talking with many of these business owners and servers, employees, etc…. they definitely feel the financial impact BUT they also MISS SEEING ALL OF YOU! Adam Garvey shared some photos with us and said “Get up here! The Keweenaw needs you!” Adam will be waiting to serve you and thank you for coming up at The Mariner North along with so many others at all the areas favorite stops!!
