Harbor Springs Area Trail Report – 01/17

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 01/17

Happy Moose Jaw Safari Eve! 🫎❄️
Our club has been working hard the last three days to get everything ready and up until today Mother Nature has been cooperating. Temperatures are sitting right around 38 degrees which is a no-go for grooming. Thankfully the trails are holding up and the temps are expected to drop below freezing in the early morning hours. Our amazing groomer operators will be hitting the trails around 4am to groom the route for the Safari. A huge thank you to Cody and Thomas for starting their days out super early for us all tomorrow!

HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 01/16

The 60th Annual Moose Jaw Safari is this Saturday! Our members are working hard to get everything ready and we are holding steady at about a foot of snow!

The event leaves from the Harbor Springs Groomer Barn (3151 Kernow Lane) at 10am sharp. We will be there to start parking people at 8:30am and will have the barn open for everyone to stay warm. The ride will end at the bean pot, center township hall (981 W Van rd, Pellston), for bean soup, hot dogs, & a good time! The event ends after the raffle drawing at 2pm, there is no return ride to the groomer barn.

❄️ You do not need registration or trail stickers for this event.

❄️ You do not have to be a member to participate, however we would love it if you did join our club! You can do so here at this link: https://www.teamhssc.com/become-hssc-member/

❄️ There is no fee to attend the event however we do ask for cash donations at the bean pot.

❄️ You can drive to the bean pot if you don’t have a sled.

❄️ We will have raffle tickets available for this years vintage sled (drawing is 2pm on Saturday) & Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club shirts, hoodies, & hats.

👇🏼 Drop a comment below and tell us where you’re traveling from to attend this event!

Munising Area Trail Report – 01/17

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA >> 01/17

Trail Report Posted
https://www.algersorva.com/trailreport/1-17-2025/

Warm temps and high traffic today set us back a bit.

We were not able to groom during the day today.

Trails are getting snirty in some areas.

Groomers went out about an hour ago and are reporting that the snow is balling up in the drag. They are panning trying to knock flat. All of our trails get 2 passes (out and back). Snow is now starting to lock up a bit and grooming results will get better as the temp drops this evening. We are trying to get it all knocked flat before it freezes,

Please try to get off of the trail and let the groomers pass,
😳
