Even the banks of the Boardman River are frozen and ice chunks are floating down stream-truly don’t think I’ve ever seen that before. Currently -18 degrees in the valley. But no wind and beautiful blue sky- honestly a beautiful day ☀ ❄
Horses and livestock are doing amazing! Thankful for all hands on deck because it sure is a process to check and do all necessary chores and preparations throughout the day and the night to ensure everyone is staying warm and happy ❤

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Accumulating lake effect snow will continue tonight for parts of eastern upper and the NW lower snowbelt. An additional 1-4 inches is expected for parts of the county with localized amounts in excess of 8 inches possible near Sault Ste. Marie and Brimley. In the NW lower snow belts, additional snow of 2-4 inches in some spots is possible as well tonight. TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> Groomer Mike went out on the south trail yesterday and sent in some pics. Mike said the trails groomed up nice with the exceptions of a few small water holes. Looking at his ribbon, I think I'm going out for a ride today. Thanks Mike for volunteering your time. Remember to Ride Right, Ride Safe, Ride Sober.
Also, GTASC will be enrolling in the Groomer Tracking App program. Groomer Mike was instrumental in getting the GTASC on-line with this program. We anticipate to have this up and running very soon. Locally higher amounts will be possible.
