Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/19

February 19, 2018

34 degrees this morning and cloudy. It did get below freezing last night and we got a heavy dusting of snow. I know the weather guessers are calling for rain down below the next couple days, but for UP here they are saying 3-6 inches of heavy wet snow…..we`ll see what happens. Here`s what went on yesterday on our trails…..

Groomer Jack ran the South trail #8. He called it fair to good. The swamp south of town had a soft spot open up but he got it filled in. I`ve said this before, slow down in there and watch for soft spots. Once he got back to the barn and fueled up he still felt ambitious so he ran the Falls trail too. Thats 14 hrs. total in the seat!!! He rated the Falls trail as good. I think he`s earning himself a new nick name…..iron butt. LOL

Groomer Gerald headed out for Pine Stump but the machine (new one) started acting up on him again so he turned around about an hour in. We called the company and they sent a tech down last night. He is out there right now working on it…….and so the saga continues.

Not sure whats up for today but stay tuned.

Groomer Chris

Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/19

On the downhill slide. 40s today, rain, and 50 tomorrow and 40s the rest of the week. I don’t think I have to say much more than that. So we are already in bad shape and the rain will wash the rest out. Still a lot of ice out there.

So I am going to cut back on updates to maybe every other day. Of course if anything exciting happens I will be right on here but somehow I don’t think we have to worry about that. I would imagine the only business I will get now in Sledheads will be riders on their way to and back from the u.p. It will be interesting to see how the u.p. holds up thru this week. I will be keeping an eye on it.

Pic below is from Tom and his group that stopped by and pick up some shirts. Remember if you need to call me my number is 989 Dig Snow……too bad we didn’t have some snow to Dig…….Thanks for checking in. Pete
