Ontonagon Trail Report – 03/16

Trail Update:

The trails held up very well this week and are in good late season condition.

The forecast for the next 3 days is beautiful for everything except our trails. They will be deteriorating quickly over the next couple days.

We groomed the entire system Thursday night in preparation for the weekend.

Get out early, enjoy and be safe!

Thank you for coming to da UP!

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR GROOMERS LEAVE NEWBERRY AT 2:00 IN THE AFTERNOON TO GROOM. PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR THE GROOMERS.

Our nights are cold so our trails are holding up. You cannot ride of out of Newberry but there are 2 staging areas – one by the RR tracks and 3 miles north of town (Silver Creek Staging Area).

North Trail #9 Trail is in fair condition. This trail is being groomed everyday but please the corners are icy due to the warm days and cold nights. The trail is plowed starting at CR 415 and CR 422 to the west for logging.

Trail #45 This trail is in fair condition. This trail is being groomed each day but please be careful of the icy corners.

South Trail #9/2 This trail is in fair condition. This trail is not being groomed due to the lack of snow. This trail does have a lot of ice so please be careful. There are water holes 4 to 5 miles north of Epoufette.
