Feb. 15 2019

We received about a foot of snow this week in the Newberry area. Its going to be a busy weekend so please SLOW DOWN AND STAY TO THE RIGHT. All 3 trails will be groomed this weekend unless there is a breakdown.

REMEMBER: The groomers are on the trails too. Our club grooms 3 trails and two of them are long trails and we need to leave the barn in the afternoon between 2:00 and 3:00.

Trail #9 (Holland Staging Area) Good to excellent condition. Please watch for the dog sledders crossing this trail. The areas are marked.

Trail #45 (Falls) Good condition. There is logging on this trail in 3 separate areas and the areas are well marked but watch out for logging trucks. Please be careful between M-123 and Skyline Road there are rocks from grading this past fall on the trail.

Trail #2/9 (Epoufette/Trout Lake) Good to excellent condition.

Trail #2 will be plowed west of Hurd Road for a logging operation. Hurd Road is west ofthe Rexton Store. Please watch for logging trucks. On trail #473 Graymont will be plowing a mile of our trail the location is east of H-40 (Caffey Corner). Please slow down in this area there will be signs.

Benzie Area Trail Report – 02/14

Trails are good. Presidents weekend always brings large amounts of traffic. Trails will be smooth every morning but traffic will make bumpy mid day. We cannot groom during heavy traffic. It will be done at night.

Warning!!!
Warm temps and rain today.
Groomers had to park.
Might be bumpy tomorrow.

They will be back out when temps drop

2/13/19 – Hi all and TGIF! Well we got anywhere from 6-8" with the little storm that came thru yesterday. It’s a weird fluffy light snow and lots of winds today blowing it all over. Still some ice under the snow in spots, so take it easy! Groomers should be out as long as the temps stay down under freezing. Unfortunately forecast is calling for high 30’s Saturday with rain again. This rollercoaster Mother Nature has us on this year needs to stop! SNOW! We want snow! Anyway, I’ll check back in as it changes again! Thanks so much for the email and awesome pics Linda! Drop me a email and pics if ya got them folks, I love em’! See ya on the trails! Carol
