PETOSKEY AREA UPDATE via Petoskey Snowmobile and ORV Club >> 12/06
So this is our reroute on trail 763. When headed toward Walloon and you turn onto Fiel E. and come into the big field you are redirected diagonally across the field to a trail in the opposite corner and it is a nice trail that connects to Holmes road high on the ridge.
This keeps snowmobiles safely off of Springbrook road alleviating the 90° sharp corner and the blind hill at Springbrook and Holmes intersection. Our groomer machines labored very hard and we had to watch our engine temperatures when ascending Holmes road. It took awhile to make this change but it should improve safety for sledders and vehicles on Springbrook.

JORDAN VALLEY AREA UPDATE via Jordan Valley Trails Council >> Latest trail update: 766 and 76 north where our trial meets Petoskey’s trail has many thin spots. 766 has some wet areas still, which is normal for this time of year. 4/76, 76 south and trail 4 still have good snow cover with some thin spots. Depending on the weather station, we are slated to get 8-10”+ of snow before the weekend which will add a small amount to what’s already on the trails. 🚨BE CAUTIOUS OF TREES/LIMBS DOWN ON THE TRAILS!🚨. Every groomer pass has required our volunteers to cut trees, limbs and move brush. We anticipate this will continue through the year due to the ice storm. Please send us a message if you encounter a downed tree so we can spread the word and get a crew to remove any trail obstruction. We will continue to have people inspecting trails even when the groomer isn’t out.
