CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort >> 02/03

Grooming back on!

Conditions – Good

Snow last 48 hrs – 4-6”

Base – 1-4”

Hello- Things are looking up again in the Cadillac area. Fresh, system snow has returned to the area in last 2 days and groomers went back out Sunday and are running regular shifts till atleast midweek.

Once again , special thanks to all the volunteers from Cadillac Winter Promotions for working so hard on this trail system. Whether it’s grooming, trimming branches, or repairing wash-outs , these guys spend a lot of personal time for the love of our sport.

***Special music in the bar Fri & Sat this coming weekend. Singer/songwriter, Kendell Marvel will be in town performing in our cozy bar. Kendell is a Grammy award winning songwriter who has written hits for the likes of Gary Allan, Chris Stapleton, Jamey Johnson , George Strait, and many more.. This is gonna be very cool , but we will need to charge cover at the door starting at 830. Please come and check this out – you won’t be disappointed! ***

THINK SNOW & RIDE RIGHT! Pete 2-3-25

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Lake effect snow continues today, stops, then resumes in intensity overnight into Tuesday, January 26th and 27th, 2026.
Discussion
Our west winds kick up to the 30-40 mph range later tonight. Prior to that happening, a northwest wind will batter some lake effect areas with an additional 1-3" this afternoon, with pockets of 4"+ possible. As we move into Tuesday, a widespread blanket of 2-5", with pockets of 4-8" will overtake the Lake Michigan shoreline, eastern UP, and Keweenaw Peninsula. Temperature difference between water and air, plus adequate lift will fuel lake effect all the way through Wednesday morning. Additionally, we have a clipper moving through on Tuesday that will bring isolated pockets of 1-3" to the east side. Most locations should still be beneath an inch, however, too many variables are in play to not mention it.
Travel will be impacted along and west of US-131, with minor travel impacts all the way over to the US-127 corridor (I-75 north of Grayling). The clipper will be swinging through with the initial push of gusty winds after midnight tonight through 10 am Tuesday morning. Again, this will be for totals starting at noon today, and lasting through 8 am EST Wednesday, with most of the snow falling throughout the entire day Tuesday. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyLake effect snow continues today, stops, then resumes in intensity overnight into Tuesday, January 26th and 27th, 2026.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> 1/26/26 - The song remains the same this week, as winter will leave us this pattern to lead us into more snow, thanks to the clipper parade. A few inches of snow or so are possible with each round, starting with a burst of snow tonight that will transition to NW to WNW flow lake effect. Highs in the teens will carry on, with cold signals holding on into early February. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey1/26/26 - The song remains the same this week, as winter will leave us this pattern to lead us into more snow, thanks to the clipper parade. CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Cadillac Winter Promotions >> We have decided to halt grooming operations until Sunday due to these cold temps. Our operators safety is #1. A lot of our trails have no cell service and if a tractor goes down it would be bad for our volunteers. The trails are in very good shape right now still. See you out there Sunday. #cadillac ... Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Dangerous wind chills will be widespread today, especially this morning. Wind chills in the 20s below zero; some areas could feel as cold as -30F. This will be dangerous, as frostbite can develop in as little as 30 minutes on exposed skin. Limit time outdoors and dress in layers. Keep a winter weather survival kit in your vehicle in case you get stranded.
Gusty northwest winds plus continued powdery lake effect snow will lead to significant reductions in visibility with whiteouts at times through this afternoon, especially in open areas where snow can easily blow around. Dangerous travel conditions are expected, and wind chills well below zero will be even more problematic if you end up stranded on the road. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskeyDangerous wind chills will be widespread today, especially this morning.
