Sledheads of Frederic – 1/6

Its 37 and Sunny in downtown Frederic on Wednesday afternoon about 2:30, I wasn’t expecting to be gone as long as I was but have been in Gaylord with Cathy. Drove up Old 27 to see what the trail looks like and I can say it isn’t pretty, and that was about 10:30 when it was still 25 out. Now with this bright sun and temp it can only be worse. After sunday its supposed to turn cold with snow so it now looks like this coming weekend will be a waste unless the weatherman is wrong….

Cadillac Area Trail Report – 01/06

January 5, 2016

Conditions: Good to Fair

Just received grooming reports for the entire trail system. The last two days they have covered the entire system. The groomers are reporting the wider trails are Good and the narrower trails are Fair. Grooming will be on limited basis until we get more snow.

One of our groomers just sent this photo to me. He was grooming a southern portion of our system last night in our new groomer (JD 6175R). We’re excited about finally getting it on the trail.

Conditions: Fair

Things are looking up. We feel we can upgrade our trail conditons. Snow conditions vary throughout our system. The most recent snowfall (overnight) brought an inch or so for the intown trail and White Pine Trail, the mid-section of the trail system got about 3 inches while the northern section near Mesick got even more snow. We have started grooming on a limited schedule.
